Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, the former CTO of Tesla, who played a key role in developing its battery technology and Gigafactory. The company recycles lithium-ion batteries with a 95% recovery rate and produces essential battery components such as Copper Foils and Cathode Active Materials. Today, Redwood Materials finds itself at a critical juncture, driven by the convergence of the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, battery material shortages, and the growing demand for sustainable battery recycling solutions.
