         ABOUT

Axiom Space is a space infrastructure developer, founded by Kam Ghaffarian and Michael T. Suffredini in 2016. The Houston-based company is building the ‘destination in space’, which it is constructing the world’s first international commercial space station. Its space station could host government astronauts, tourists, private companies, as well as housing in-space research and in-space manufacturing.

The company is led by a team largely composed of former NASA employees, which have hands-on experience in developing and managing the International Space Station (ISS). The company is sole-selected to connect its commercial space station to the ISS. Axiom intends to launch its modules individually and have them assembled in-space by first attaching to the ISS. Once the ISS retires, Axiom’s commercial station will detach and commence orbiting on its own. The company is set to fly the world’s first private crew to the ISS in 2022. The company is backed by notable investors such as Helios Capital, IBX, C5 Capital, and Hemisphere Ventures.
